What tests are needed for ankylosing spondylitis?

Ankylosing spondylitis takes the spine as the main lesion, and its cause is related to genetic, environmental and other factors. During the onset of the disease, the function of the spine is impaired, and it is easy to experience discomfort such as spinal pain, swelling, and pain. Once the spine is affected, treatment work cannot be ignored. Before that, we need to pay attention to the inspection work. Through the following inspections, we can understand the condition of patients with ankylosing spondylitis and provide more help for treatment.

1. Conventional X-ray:

Routine X-rays are very important for ankylosing spondylitis. By routinely taking an anteroposterior image of the patient's pelvis, we can observe the sacroiliac joints and understand the lesions of the hip joints, ischium, and pubic symphysis.

2. Laboratory examination:

Most patients with ankylosing spondylitis have no specific laboratory test indicators after laboratory examination, and their rheumatoid factor RF is mostly negative. When the patient is in the active stage, the erythrocyte sedimentation rate and C-reactive protein can increase significantly, and more than half of the patients are HLA-B27 positive.

3. CT examination:

CT examination has high resolution and no obvious interference. Through CT examination, slight changes in the sacroiliac joint can be found, which is helpful for early diagnosis. For patients who are difficult to diagnose with conventional X-rays, CT examination can confirm the diagnosis.

Considering the serious harm of ankylosing spondylitis and the fact that it cannot be completely cured, it is necessary to pay attention to examination after the onset of the disease and then give the patient drug treatment. For example, celecoxib and diclofenac are good choices. The drugs can improve morning stiffness, joint swelling, pain and other discomforts.

The above introduces three methods of checking ankylosing spondylitis, which have a high disability rate and serious harm. Once the spine is affected, treatment cannot be ignored. Corresponding examinations can be carried out according to the condition of spinal injury, and targeted treatment can be obtained according to the results of the examination. If the condition is more serious, the patient should be given surgery and cooperate with postoperative care.
