Causes of throat discomfort caused by cervical bone hyperplasia

Causes of throat discomfort caused by cervical bone hyperplasia

Treatments for throat discomfort caused by cervical spondylosis include medication, physical therapy, and surgery. The reason is that the hyperplastic bone compresses the surrounding nerves or tissues. Cervical spondylosis is caused by long-term strain, degenerative changes, or trauma to the cervical spine, which leads to abnormal bone growth. The hyperplastic bone may compress the recurrent laryngeal nerve or surrounding tissues, causing throat discomfort.

1. Drug treatment: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen and diclofenac sodium can relieve inflammation and pain; muscle relaxants such as eperisone can help relieve neck muscle tension; neurotrophic drugs such as methylcobalamin can promote nerve repair.

2. Physical therapy: Cervical traction can relieve nerve compression; hot compress or infrared irradiation can improve local blood circulation; neck massage and acupuncture can relieve muscle tension and pain.

3. Surgical treatment: For patients with severe nerve compression or who are ineffective with conservative treatment, anterior cervical decompression and fusion, posterior cervical laminoplasty or minimally invasive surgery may be considered.

Causes of cervical spondylosis include genetic factors, long-term poor posture, cervical degenerative changes and trauma. Preventive measures include maintaining a correct sitting posture, avoiding bowing the head for a long time, moderate neck exercises and regular physical examinations. If throat discomfort persists or worsens, you should seek medical attention in time, get a clear diagnosis and receive targeted treatment. Although cervical spondylosis is a chronic disease, scientific treatment and daily care can effectively relieve symptoms and improve the quality of life.
