Commercial massage chair maintenance: inspection and service routine

Set up a practical routine for shared chairs at hotels, gyms, showrooms and staff facilities.

Updated

Start with the installation record

Record the serial number, room, installer and exact manual for each chair. Confirm the supplier’s warranty explicitly covers the intended venue and use. Obtain the parts list and service contact, then note any session duration or rest interval specified by the manufacturer.

Inspect before opening

Check for torn upholstery, loose external parts and visible cord or plug damage. Keep the space around the backrest and footrest free of furniture, bags and cables. With visible damage, abnormal movement or a recurring error, stop offering the chair and follow the model’s service instructions.

Match cleaning to the material

Turn the chair off and disconnect it before cleaning according to its manual. Use only upholstery products permitted for the actual material, keep moisture out of openings, and let surfaces dry before reconnecting. The Human Touch care guide distinguishes synthetic upholstery from genuine leather; its recommendations are specific to applicable models.

Make faults easy to report

Keep a log of date, chair ID, error code, symptoms and the last setting used. Staff should report a persistent fault to service without opening the housing. Keep the chair unavailable until the prescribed checks or repair are complete and record who released it for use.

Set a service plan before purchase

Ask who supplies upholstery, removable liners and controllers, who can service the chair on-site and who pays transport if it must leave. Compare the exact model’s coverage with a manufacturer example such as the Human Touch commercial warranty, then keep your supplier’s written terms with the service record.
