What to do if there is a lump after breast cyst surgery

If a lump appears after breast cyst surgery, it is generally normal, but whether medical treatment is needed depends on the recovery situation.

The lumps are usually scar tissue formed during the postoperative tissue repair process, or they may be local lumps caused by inflammatory reactions or hematomas. After surgery, the body will start a "repair" process, just like painting a damaged wall, but the paint may feel uneven before it dries.

This lump will usually soften and shrink over time, which may take several weeks to several months. If the lump continues to grow, is painful to touch, or is accompanied by redness, swelling, heat, and pain, it may be a sign of inflammation or infection. Some people may have a more obvious lump due to their physical constitution, which may cause scarring.

Pay more attention to local care after surgery, avoid pressing or irritating with force, and choose loose clothing to prevent friction. Moderately reduce the intake of irritating foods in your diet, and eat more vegetables and fruits rich in vitamins to help the body repair. If the lump makes you feel uncomfortable or does not improve for a long time, it is recommended to consult a doctor as soon as possible to check the specific cause.
