How kidney stones form

How kidney stones form

There are many reasons for the formation of kidney stones, which are related to our usual drinking water, diet, living habits, living environment, genetics or certain diseases. The main reason for its formation is that the crystal substances in the urine are precipitated after the urine is concentrated, and the formed crystals are attached to the renal pelvis and gradually grow larger. It is due to the obstruction below the kidney, which causes the flow of urine in the kidney to slow down, which can easily lead to the precipitation of crystal substances in the urine. And kidney stones are formed. Usually we need to drink more water, urinate frequently, and dilute urine, which can effectively prevent the formation of stones.

Early symptoms of kidney stones in women

The early symptoms of kidney stones are generally not particularly obvious. When the stones in the kidneys shift, some symptoms will appear as the urine flushes. The stones are relatively small, and the symptoms they cause are relatively mild, generally manifested as abdominal pain, back pain, blood in the urine, etc. However, for larger stones, the initial symptoms are more obvious, and renal colic will occur, and the pain will be located at the costovertebral angle of the posterior waist. If the stones are accompanied by infection, it will cause pyelonephritis, with symptoms such as high fever, chills, abdominal distension, and fatigue. If the obstruction caused by stones is not relieved for a long time, it will cause hydronephrosis, which will affect renal function and cause symptoms such as oliguria and polyuria.

What category does kidney stones belong to?

People with kidney stones should go to the urology department of a regular hospital for treatment, because urology specializes in treating kidney stones, urinary stones, bladder stones, etc. If you have kidney stones, you must first check a CT scan to find out the location and size of the kidney stones, as well as whether there are changes in the kidney shape. If the kidney stones are small, you can drink more water and urinate frequently to effectively expel the small stones through urination. If the stones are large, you need to undergo extracorporeal lithotripsy to break up the large stones and then expel them through urination.
