How to treat lateral meniscus injury of the knee? Meniscus injury is one of the most common knee injuries, more common in young and middle-aged people, more common in men than in women. According to foreign reports, the ratio of internal and external meniscus injuries is 4-5: on the contrary, the ratio reported in China is 1:2.5. The knee meniscus is a fibrous cartilage tissue, with a wedge shape with a thick periphery and a thin inner edge. It is a half-moon shape when viewed from a plane, and is called a meniscus. Treatment of lateral meniscus injury of the knee: 1. Acute phase: If there is obvious effusion or blood accumulation in the joint, the effusion should be drained under strict aseptic operation; if the joint is "locked", the "locking" should be removed by manipulation, and then the knee joint should be fixed in an extended position for 4 weeks with a tubular plaster from the 1/3 of the thigh to the ankle joint. The plaster should be properly shaped, and the patient can walk with the plaster. During the fixation period and after the removal of the fixation, the quadriceps should be actively exercised to prevent muscle atrophy. 2. Chronic stage: If non-surgical treatment is ineffective, symptoms and signs are obvious, and the diagnosis is clear, the damaged meniscus should be removed as soon as possible to prevent traumatic arthritis. After surgery, the knee is extended and pressure bandaged. Quadriceps static contraction exercises are started on the second day. Straight leg raising exercises are started 2 to 3 days later to prevent quadriceps atrophy. Walking is started after two weeks. Generally, normal function can be restored within 2 days after surgery to 3 months. 3. Application of arthroscopy: Arthroscopy can be used to treat meniscus injuries. The tear of the meniscus edge can be repaired by suture. Usually, the meniscus is partially removed and the undamaged part is retained. For those who suspect meniscus injury at an early stage, emergency arthroscopy can be performed to treat meniscus injury at an early stage, shorten the course of treatment, improve the treatment effect, and reduce the occurrence of traumatic arthritis. Arthroscopic surgery has less trauma and faster recovery. Avoid eating rooster, carp and sour bamboo shoots before and after treatment. If the ligament is sprained, do not eat beef and ginger. If there is swelling, you cannot eat dry hot food, such as hot pot, spicy hot pot, etc. |
