Is breast hyperplasia in women a big deal?

Female breast hyperplasia is usually a benign disease, and generally there is no need to worry too much, but it is still necessary to pay close attention to changes in the condition. Breast hyperplasia is a non-cancerous proliferation of breast tissue, which manifests as breast tenderness, lumps, and periodic discomfort, especially common in women of childbearing age. Although most hyperplasia will not develop into breast cancer, some special types may increase the risk of cancer, so they need to be taken seriously.

The occurrence of breast hyperplasia is closely related to the fluctuation of estrogen levels in the body. Especially during the menstrual cycle, estrogen stimulates the proliferation of mammary duct epithelial cells, while progesterone is responsible for balancing this process. If the secretion ratio of the two is unbalanced, abnormal proliferation of breast tissue may occur. Factors such as long-term stress, staying up late, and unhealthy diet may further aggravate this condition. Some women will also find that the symptoms of breast hyperplasia intensify before menstruation and gradually subside after menstruation.

Breast hyperplasia can be divided into two categories: physiological and pathological. Physiological hyperplasia is mostly a normal physiological reaction, characterized by a wide range of lesions and soft and elastic breast tissue, and usually does not require special treatment. Pathological hyperplasia includes situations where the hyperplasia lumps are dense, limited in range, and hard to the touch. This type of hyperplasia requires regular examinations or doctor's evaluation. Clinically, cystic breast hyperplasia is the most common type. Although it is a benign lesion, if the hyperplasia is accompanied by atypical cell proliferation, the risk will increase.

If it is confirmed that it is breast hyperplasia, the first thing to do is to develop a healthy lifestyle to alleviate the symptoms. Adjust the diet structure, reduce the intake of high-fat, high-calorie foods, and eat more foods rich in dietary fiber and vitamin E, such as broccoli, walnuts, deep-sea fish, etc., which can help regulate hormone levels in the body. It is equally important to have a regular work and rest schedule and avoid staying up late and overwork. These simple living habits can play an auxiliary role in improvement. Pay attention to the changes in breast symptoms, and properly record the regularity of periodic pain and lump characteristics. If abnormalities are found or symptoms worsen, it is recommended to consult a doctor as soon as possible whether further examination is needed, such as breast ultrasound or mammography.
