What is a pseudo abdominal aortic aneurysm and how to treat it

Aneurysms may be caused by cancer cells or arteriosclerosis, which is very harmful to human health. Here is an introduction to what pseudo abdominal aortic aneurysm is and how to treat it.

Abdominal aortic aneurysm refers to the aneurysm-like dilation of the abdominal aorta, which is usually defined as an aneurysm when the diameter increases by more than 50%. Abdominal aortic aneurysm is more common in elderly men, with a male-to-female ratio of 10:3, especially in smokers, who also significantly increase the risk of aneurysm rupture. The vast majority of abdominal aortic aneurysms are lesions below the level of the renal arteries.

Abdominal aortic aneurysm is a dilated bulge of the abdominal aorta wall. After it occurs, it can gradually grow larger and eventually rupture and bleed, leading to the patient's death. Abdominal aortic aneurysm mainly occurs in the elderly over 60 years old, with a male to female ratio of 10:3. It is often accompanied by hypertension and heart disease, but it can occasionally be seen in young people. It is more common in men than in women. The occurrence of abdominal aortic aneurysm is mainly related to arteriosclerosis. Other rare causes are congenital maldevelopment of the aorta, syphilis, trauma, infection, Takayasu arteritis, Marfan syndrome, etc.

Abdominal aortic aneurysm may heal on its own if not treated. The most serious local consequence is rupture and bleeding leading to death. The proportion of rupture is significantly increased when the tumor diameter is ≥ cm. Even if the tumor is smaller, there is still the possibility of acute heart rupture.

In principle, abdominal aortic aneurysms should be treated with elective surgery. For those with poor surgical tolerance, active treatment should be given to create conditions for surgery. If the diameter of the aneurysm is small, imaging diagnostic technology such as B-mode ultrasound examination should be used regularly. If there is a trend of enlargement, surgical treatment should be decided. Patients with ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysms need timely emergency surgery.

Therefore, we know that the condition and treatment of pseudo abdominal aortic aneurysm can refer to the above introduction and carry out reasonable treatment according to the guidance of the pharmacist.
