What to do if you have varicose veins on your eggs

Varicose veins on the testicles are medically known as testicular varicose veins. It is a common male disease and it is recommended to seek medical attention as soon as possible, especially when the symptoms are obvious or accompanied by pain and swelling. Treatment methods include lifestyle adjustments, drug therapy or surgical intervention.

1 Causes of varicose veins in the testicle

Testicular varicose veins are caused by obstruction of testicular venous blood flow. Common causes include the following:

Genetic factors: Some patients may have a genetic tendency to have congenital venous valve dysfunction, which leads to blood backflow.

Environmental factors: long-term standing, heavy physical labor, bad living habits such as smoking, and sitting for long periods of time may increase intra-abdominal pressure and thus affect venous return.

Physiological factors: In the venous anatomy of the male reproductive system, the left testicular vein directly enters the left renal vein, which is prone to higher venous return pressure, so the incidence rate on the left side is higher.

Pathological factors: It may be related to pathological changes such as tumors in the abdominal or pelvic cavity, vascular compression, etc. These conditions need to be checked and ruled out as soon as possible.

2 Symptoms of varicose veins in the testicle

Mild cases usually have no obvious symptoms, but severe cases may present with:

Pain and swelling in the testicles or scrotum, especially after daytime activities or long periods of standing;

Dilated veins can be seen or felt in the scrotum, resembling a "worm ball" in appearance;

Testicular atrophy or softening may affect fertility.

3 Treatment of testicular varicose veins

Lifestyle adjustments: Avoid standing or sitting for long periods of time and in high temperature environments, get adequate rest and wear a scrotal support to slow down local blood congestion.

Drug treatment: Suitable for mild patients and those with mild symptoms. Drugs include drugs to improve venous function such as Mylar, or moderate use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen to relieve pain.

Surgery: Moderate to severe patients or those with severe symptoms may require surgery, including the following:

1. High testicular vein ligation: restores normal blood flow by cutting off abnormal blood vessels, mostly minimally invasive surgery.

2. Laparoscopic surgery: Varicose veins can be accurately treated through laparoscopy, which has the advantages of quick recovery and less trauma.

3. Embolization: Using interventional methods to block blood vessels to prevent backflow, suitable for certain special patients.

Testicular varicose veins can affect testicular health and male fertility, so even if the symptoms are mild, they should be taken seriously. Do not ignore early symptoms. It is recommended to have regular physical examinations and follow the doctor's advice to receive appropriate treatment to protect male reproductive health.
