How are breast cysts treated?

Breast cysts generally do not require treatment, and regular observation is sufficient. However, if the symptoms are obvious or accompanied by discomfort, intervention can be chosen according to different circumstances.

Breast cysts are fluid cysts in the breast, usually due to fluctuations in hormone levels in the body, such as the dilation of the breast lobule glands and ducts caused by the action of estrogen. It is mostly benign and common in women aged 30-50. Especially before menstruation, the cyst may feel more tense or painful.

If the cyst is small and has no obvious symptoms, doctors usually recommend regular follow-up with ultrasound. For larger cysts or those with obvious symptoms, puncture and fluid extraction can be used to relieve pressure. If the cyst is accompanied by symptoms suspected of malignancy, further biopsy may be required to confirm the diagnosis and exclude the risk of tumor.

Pay attention to maintaining good living habits, such as a balanced diet, adequate sleep, and appropriate stress reduction, which can also alleviate the symptoms of cysts. If you find persistent breast lumps or pain, abnormal secretions, etc., you need to seek medical attention in time to avoid delaying treatment.
