How to prevent mastitis?

Lactating women are prone to mastitis when they are weaning, which is caused by improper weaning methods. The occurrence of mastitis not only affects normal life, but also increases the psychological pressure of women.

1. What to eat to stop breastfeeding

When breastfeeding women are trying to stop producing milk, they may want to eat more foods that help with this, including eggplant, fungi, leeks, and lotus roots; there are also some condiments that can help women stop producing milk, such as seasonings, MSG, and peppercorns; some snacks can also help with this, such as chocolate, ham, and maltose.

2. How to prevent mastitis?

1. If your breasts are swollen and uncomfortable, you can squeeze out a little milk, but don't squeeze it all out, otherwise it may promote the re-secretion of milk and make the effect counterproductive.

2. When breast pain occurs, you can relieve the pain by applying an ice pack.

3. If you find lumps in your breasts during weaning, be sure to massage and rub the breasts in time to avoid mastitis.

4. During the weaning period, try to minimize stimulation of the breasts and nipples, which will also prevent excessive milk secretion. Do not let the baby breastfeed or touch the breasts. During the bathing process, try to avoid direct contact of overheated water with the breasts, otherwise it will stimulate the secretion of prolactin.

5. Avoid using hormonal drugs when weaning, and do not use milk-suppressing injections to speed up milk-suppression, as this can easily lead to breast secretion problems and breast atrophy.

6. When weaning, do not eat foods that promote milk secretion, such as some foods rich in collagen, such as pig's trotters, peanuts and fish soup, and do not drink too much water.

7. If you cannot successfully stop producing milk for a long time, you can also take milk-reducing medicine, but you need to be under the guidance of a doctor. If there is not much milk, you don’t need to take medicine, otherwise there may be milk lumps, but the milk lumps can be absorbed naturally, so don’t worry too much.
