Is a breast cyst cancerous?

Enlarged breast cysts do not necessarily mean that they are cancerous, but they require vigilance and medical evaluation. Medical examinations such as ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can more accurately determine the nature of the cyst and whether further treatment is necessary.

1. Cause analysis: Breast cysts are mostly benign, and their formation is related to changes in estrogen levels. Menstrual cycles, pregnancy, and dietary factors may also lead to the development of cysts. Genetic factors may also increase the risk of cysts.

2. Detection and monitoring: Regular breast examinations, including ultrasound and mammography, are recommended to monitor changes in the cyst. If the cyst appears to be significantly larger or changes in shape, the doctor may recommend an MRI scan to rule out the possibility of malignancy.

3. Treatment options: For small cysts without symptoms, usually no treatment is required, only regular follow-up observation is required. For patients with severe symptoms or significantly enlarged cysts, puncture aspiration can be considered to relieve discomfort, and pathological examination is required to confirm benign or malignant. In rare cases, surgery may be required to remove the cyst.

4. Lifestyle adjustment: It is recommended to control weight, avoid high-fat diet, exercise moderately, keep a good mood, and conduct regular self-examination.

Breast cysts do not necessarily turn into cancer, but you need to pay close attention to their changes. Regular medical examinations and a healthy lifestyle are important measures to prevent cancer. If the cyst grows significantly or is accompanied by symptoms such as pain or skin changes, you should consult a doctor immediately to determine the best treatment plan. To ensure your own health, you need to pay enough attention to every signal from your body.
