Symptoms of severe mixed hemorrhoids

Symptoms of severe mixed hemorrhoids

The main symptoms of severe mixed hemorrhoids include anal pain, bleeding, prolapse and itching. Treatments include medication, surgery and lifestyle adjustments, and the specific choice depends on the severity of the disease and individual circumstances.

1. Anal pain is a common symptom of mixed hemorrhoids, especially when defecating. The pain may be caused by hemorrhoid incarceration or thrombosis. Local use of analgesic ointments such as lidocaine gel or oral nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen can effectively relieve pain. At the same time, keep the bowels open, avoid constipation, and reduce irritation to the anus.

2. Bleeding is another major symptom of mixed hemorrhoids, usually manifested as blood dripping after defecation or blood when wiping. Excessive bleeding may lead to anemia. Using hemostatic drugs such as Yunnan Baiyao or hemorrhoid suppositories such as Mayinglong Hemorrhoid Suppositories can effectively stop bleeding. Adding fiber-rich foods such as whole grains, vegetables and fruits to the diet can help soften stools and reduce bleeding.

3. Prolapse refers to hemorrhoids protruding from the anus. In severe cases, they may not be able to retract on their own. Prolapsed hemorrhoids are susceptible to friction and infection, causing pain and discomfort. Manual reduction is a temporary way to relieve prolapse, but the long-term effect is limited. Surgical treatment such as hemorrhoidectomy or stapled hemorrhoidectomy (PPH) is an effective way to solve prolapse.

4. Itching is a common symptom of mixed hemorrhoids, which may be caused by secretion irritation or local infection. Keep the anus clean and dry, use mild detergents such as saline to wash, and avoid using irritating soaps. Local use of antipruritic ointments such as hydrocortisone cream or oral antihistamines such as loratadine can relieve itching.

If the symptoms of mixed hemorrhoids are severe, you need to seek medical attention in time. The doctor will develop an individualized treatment plan based on the condition. Drug treatment, surgical treatment and lifestyle adjustment are the three main methods for treating mixed hemorrhoids. Patients should choose the appropriate treatment method according to their own conditions and maintain good living habits to prevent recurrence of the disease.
