Causes of vasculitis

Causes of vasculitis

The causes of vasculitis mainly involve genetic factors, environmental factors, autoimmune disorders and infections. Vasculitis is a disease involving vascular inflammation that can be caused by a variety of factors. Genetic background may play an important role in certain types of vasculitis, and some people are genetically susceptible and more likely to develop vasculitis. Environmental factors such as viral or bacterial infections, the use of specific medications and even exposure to certain chemicals may become predisposing factors. Autoimmune disorders are a common internal cause. When the body's immune system mistakenly attacks its own vascular tissue, it causes inflammation. Systemic diseases such as rheumatic fever and systemic lupus erythematosus may also increase the risk of vasculitis.

Understanding the cause of vasculitis can help detect and manage the disease earlier. Clinically, symptoms of vasculitis may include rash, fever, fatigue, and joint pain. However, these symptoms are not specific, so a diagnosis of vasculitis requires a combination of blood tests, tissue biopsies, and imaging tests. For those with severe symptoms, such as abdominal pain, shortness of breath, or severe skin lesions, an immediate medical evaluation is required. Treatments are varied, including hormone therapy such as the use of immunosuppressants such as prednisone and rituximab, and appropriate anti-disease drugs can be selected based on the cause. Newly infected people should pay attention to the choice of antibiotics, and vasculitis caused by drugs should be discontinued in a timely manner.

In daily life, patients should pay attention to maintaining good living habits, avoiding sources of infection, and having regular physical examinations to monitor the progression of the disease. In terms of diet, eat more foods rich in antioxidants such as fruits and nuts to enhance the body's immune regulation ability. Aerobic exercise can also help, but a reasonable exercise plan must be made according to personal circumstances. For recurrent or more serious diseases, maintaining close communication with the professional medical team and adjusting treatment plans and health strategies in a timely manner can improve the quality of life and the effect of disease control.
