Precautions after perianal abscess surgery

During the recovery period after perianal abscess surgery, attention should be paid to cleaning care, diet conditioning and proper activities, which can help reduce the risk of infection and speed up healing. Although surgery solves the abscess problem, the meticulousness of postoperative care directly affects the recovery effect.

Perianal abscess is an infectious disease around the rectum, often caused by local bacterial infection, which leads to gland obstruction and suppuration. Surgery usually involves incision and drainage to remove the pus, which is a traumatic treatment. However, the wound is not completely healed after surgery and is susceptible to bacterial invasion. At the same time, the anatomical characteristics of the perianal area and defecation activities in daily life make care difficult.

Postoperative cleaning care is the key. Daily warm water sitting bath can effectively promote local blood circulation and accelerate wound healing. It is also very important to keep the wound clean. Be careful not to use overheated water to avoid irritating local tissues. At the same time, gently clean the anus with warm water after each bowel movement, and avoid using irritating detergents such as soap. Maintain sterile operation when changing the dressing, and choose antibacterial disinfectants under the guidance of a doctor.

In terms of diet, it is recommended to eat light foods rich in dietary fiber, such as vegetables, fruits, and whole grains, and avoid spicy and irritating foods and alcohol to reduce irritation to the wound. Appropriate intake of fat sources such as nuts and vegetable oils can help with tissue repair after surgery; drinking plenty of water can help prevent constipation and avoid pulling on the wound due to excessive force during defecation.

Moderate activity is also an important factor in recovery. Sitting for long periods of time may lead to poor local blood circulation, so friction on the wound should be avoided; moderate light walking can promote blood return and help repair. However, avoid heavy physical labor and strenuous exercise to avoid putting extra pressure on the wound. If swelling, severe pain, or abnormal secretions are found, a follow-up examination should be conducted in a timely manner to rule out secondary infection or poor wound healing.

The three months after surgery are a critical period for recovery. You should pay attention to local wound care, adjust your diet and lifestyle, form a regular schedule, and speed up the recovery of body functions. If you feel uncomfortable or have questions, you should seek help from professionals as soon as possible to deal with potential problems in a timely manner.
