How to deal with perianal abscess

How to deal with perianal abscess

When the abscess of perianal abscess ruptures, the wound surface should be cleaned and disinfected immediately to prevent further spread of infection. After washing your hands carefully, gently rinse the wound with normal saline or warm saline, and avoid using lotions containing irritating ingredients to avoid aggravating the discomfort of the wound surface. Then dry it with sterile gauze or sterile cotton swabs, and apply antibiotic ointment to inhibit bacterial infection.

The formation of perianal abscesses is usually related to physiological factors, pathological factors, trauma and environmental factors. Physiological factors include decreased immunity and poor blood circulation, which increase the risk of infection. Pathological factors are often caused by inflammation of subcutaneous tissue due to infection with bacteria, which leads to the formation of abscesses. Broken or abraded skin around the anus can also easily lead to bacterial infection. Poor hygiene habits and long periods of sitting can also increase the risk of disease.

It is very important to treat the wound after the abscess ruptures. Keep the wound dry and clean, and be careful not to expose the wound to moisture for a long time. Change the gauze regularly to ensure that the wound is not infected again during the healing process. Avoid irritating foods, such as spicy and greasy foods, to reduce the burden on the stomach and intestines. Third, increase dietary fiber intake appropriately to promote intestinal peristalsis and prevent constipation from aggravating the discomfort of the wound.

If you have fever, increased redness, swelling, pain, or a large amount of pus discharge, you should seek medical attention immediately. The doctor may perform further examinations and treatments, such as antibiotic treatment and surgical debridement when necessary. To prevent recurrence, you can do moderate exercise, such as yoga and brisk walking, to strengthen your physical fitness. At the same time, develop good hygiene habits, especially pay attention to the cleanliness around the anus, check your physical condition regularly, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Paying attention to body signals, actively responding to changes in the disease, and seeking help from professional doctors are the keys to ensuring health. I hope every reader can take the right measures and recover their health as soon as possible.
