Most cases of femoral head necrosis have symptoms of pain. The pain is manifested as pain around the hip joint, that is, the root of the thigh, after activity. It can also be manifested as buttocks pain, radiating to the thigh and knee joints. In the early stage, the pain may occur suddenly, worsen when standing or walking, and relieved immediately after rest. As the disease worsens, the pain will gradually increase. For example, squatting and other actions will cause hip pain. Severe cases can also cause lameness and inability to walk long distances. In the later stage, the femoral head is necrotic and deformed, and the hip movement is severely restricted. Morning stiffness will occur, that is, the hip is stiff after getting up in the morning, and the movement is unfavorable. There may even be shortening of the lower limbs and atrophy of the lower limb muscles, especially the thigh and buttocks muscles. The mobility and range of motion are significantly affected, the quality of life is significantly reduced, and it brings a huge mental burden to the patient. Can a femoral fracture lead to femoral head necrosis? Femoral fractures may lead to femoral head necrosis. If femoral fractures are not treated in time, they are likely to cause avascular necrosis of the femoral head. Therefore, femoral fractures should be corrected in time to avoid local blood flow blockage. Severe femoral fractures can be repositioned by surgery. After surgery, local care should be taken to avoid external stimulation of the wound. If the pain is obvious, appropriate massage can be performed to relieve it. What complications may occur with femoral head necrosis Femoral head necrosis will cause pain in the groin area. As the disease progresses, complications such as limited hip joint movement, stiffness, lameness, shortening and deformity of the lower limbs, and compensatory pelvic tilt will occur. Femoral head necrosis should pay attention to rest, maintain a proper weight, abstain from smoking and drinking, and standardize the use of hormone drugs. At the same time, anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs, blood lipid control drugs and other drug treatments can be used. If the symptoms are severe and conservative treatment is ineffective and seriously affects life, surgical treatment can be performed. |
