Causes and symptoms of anal fistula

Causes and symptoms of anal fistula:

The main cause of anal fistula is bacterial infection. Due to the special location of anal fistula, it is easy to breed many bacteria, which will rupture and discharge pus in the anus. The formation of anal fistula often has other complications, such as anal sinusitis, anal canal inflammation, perianal abscess, etc. The symptoms of anal fistula will recur with swelling, pain, ulcers and pus, and pus secretion often occurs. This is the best way to treat anal fistula.

What is anal fistula?

Anal fistula is connected to the anal canal and rectum, and is composed of an external opening, an internal opening, and a fistula. Anal fistula is a chronic inflammatory lesion.

Causes of anal fistula:

The main cause of anal fistula is bacterial infection, followed by a special and rare disease, tuberculosis infection. During World War II, the understanding of tuberculosis was not clear, and there was no specific medicine for treatment, so tuberculosis anal fistula was particularly common. It was once believed that tuberculosis infection was the main cause of anal fistula, but later it was confirmed that bacterial infection was the main cause of anal fistula, and tuberculosis infection was also rare. The bacteria pass through the anal fossa, then to the anal gland duct, and then to the gap around the anal support, digging out like a tunnel, from the anus to the anal rupture pus, forming anal fistula.

Symptoms of anal fistula:

The most common cause of anal fistula is bacterial infection. Bacterial infection is located in the anal crypts. Through the infection in the anal crypts, the anal gland ducts spread to the space around the anorectum, first causing suppuration, then the abscess ruptures, or an anal fistula is formed after the abscess is removed and drained. Due to anal sinusitis, the inflammation of the anal gland duct is difficult to eliminate, and surgery is often required to completely remove it.

The secretions of the anal gland duct and anal sinusitis reach the mass next to the anus through the fistula, and the symptoms will be relieved to a certain extent. Because anal fistula will repeatedly swell, ache, ulcer, and pus, some people hear about anal fistula and think it is fecal leakage. In fact, there are only secretions, pus secretions, pus and blood secretions.
