Foods to avoid for breast cysts

Patients with breast cysts need to avoid consuming high-fat, high-hormone and highly irritating foods, as these foods may cause hormone imbalance or aggravate the increase of cystic fluid in the breast, thereby worsening the condition.

High-fat foods such as fried foods, cream, and fatty meat will stimulate the increase of estrogen levels in the body. Excessive estrogen is directly related to the formation and enlargement of breast cysts, so intake should be reduced. Hormone foods such as health products containing estrogen and excessive intake of soy products (such as soy milk and soy protein) may also aggravate the growth of cysts and should be taken seriously. Spicy and irritating foods such as peppers, ginger, and garlic may cause inflammatory reactions or affect hormone metabolism, aggravating the discomfort of cysts, and also need to be reduced appropriately. Alcohol and caffeinated beverages (coffee, strong tea, energy drinks) are irritating to breast tissue and may cause symptoms such as breast pain.

In terms of diet, you can choose light and easily digestible food, eat more fresh vegetables and fruits rich in dietary fiber (such as spinach, carrots, apples), which is conducive to the balance of hormone metabolism, and can supplement foods rich in antioxidants (cherries, blueberries). At the same time, eat more foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids (such as salmon, flaxseed oil), which have anti-inflammatory effects and are beneficial to breast health. In daily diet, reducing excessive eating at dinner can also help prevent further deterioration of cysts.

If breast cysts are accompanied by obvious pain or the lump gradually increases in size, you should go to the hospital for breast ultrasound examination in time, and follow up regularly. If necessary, take drug treatment or interventional treatment management. Through comprehensive adjustments in diet and lifestyle, you can effectively control cyst symptoms and prevent the progression of the disease.
