Symptoms of cystitis in children

Symptoms of cystitis in children include frequent urination, urgency, pain and difficulty urinating, and in severe cases, fever and abdominal pain. The treatment of cystitis is mainly antibiotics, such as amoxicillin, cefixime and nitrofurantoin. At the same time, they need to drink plenty of water, maintain personal hygiene, and seek medical attention when necessary.

1. Frequent urination is a common symptom of cystitis, which is manifested as frequent urination in children, but the amount of urine each time is small. This is because the bladder mucosa is stimulated by inflammation, resulting in a reduction in bladder capacity. It is recommended that parents observe the frequency of urination of their children, record the number of urinations, and seek medical attention in time.

2. Urgency means that the child suddenly feels a strong desire to urinate and is difficult to control. This may be due to inflammation of the bladder muscles, which leads to increased bladder sensitivity. Parents should encourage their children to urinate in time, avoid holding urine, and reduce bladder pressure.

3. Painful urination is a typical symptom of cystitis, which manifests as a burning or stinging sensation in the urethra or bladder area during urination. This is usually due to damage to the urethral mucosa caused by inflammation. Parents are advised to give their children more water to dilute the urine and reduce the pain of urination.

4. Dysuria means that the child feels difficulty when urinating or the urine flow is not smooth. This may be due to bladder inflammation leading to urethral stenosis or abnormal bladder muscle function. Parents should observe the child's urination and seek medical attention in time if there is any abnormality.

5. Fever and abdominal pain are serious symptoms of cystitis, indicating that the inflammation may have spread to the kidneys or other parts. Parents should take their children to the doctor immediately for routine blood and urine tests, and imaging tests if necessary, to confirm the diagnosis and treatment.

The symptoms of cystitis in children are diverse. Parents should pay close attention to their children's urination and take timely treatment measures to avoid worsening of the disease.
