How to treat heel synovitis

How to treat heel synovitis

Heel synovitis is a disease that requires a combination of rest, conservative treatment and disease management. It is recommended to carry out graded treatment according to the severity of symptoms, and those with severe symptoms should seek medical attention promptly.

It is an inflammatory reaction caused by irritation or friction of the synovial tissue in the heel area, often occurring in athletes or people who stand for long periods of time. The pain is usually concentrated in the heel area, becomes more obvious when walking, and may be accompanied by local swelling or tenderness.

For mild symptoms, you can try to reduce weight-bearing activities, avoid standing or walking for long periods of time, and use ice to relieve pain, with each ice application lasting 15-20 minutes. You can also choose padded insoles or corrective shoes to assist in treatment and reduce pressure on the heel. Muscle massage and foot muscle stretching exercises can also help resume normal activities.

If symptoms continue to worsen or affect daily activities, you should go to the hospital in time. The doctor may combine physical therapy, anti-inflammatory drugs, or even laser or shock wave therapy to help relieve symptoms. Paying attention to foot care and avoiding overuse can better prevent similar problems from happening again.
