What is pancreatic hemangioma? Is it serious? Which department should I go to for examination?

Pancreatic hemangioma is a rare benign tumor that is usually discovered accidentally through imaging examinations. If obvious symptoms occur or malignancy is suspected, seek medical attention promptly and go to the general surgery or gastroenterology department for diagnosis.

It is a mass formed by abnormal proliferation of vascular tissue in the pancreas. The severity of the disease depends on the location and size of the tumor and whether it affects surrounding organs or blood vessels. It usually does not deteriorate into cancer, but complications should be guarded against. Some patients may have no symptoms, while others may experience abdominal pain, nausea or indigestion.

Specific examinations include B-ultrasound, CT or MRI to confirm the location and nature of the lesion, and sometimes blood tests are used to rule out other causes. If the doctor suspects malignancy, a puncture biopsy can be performed based on imaging to further clarify the characteristics of the lesion.

It is recommended that if you suspect you have symptoms, you should go to the hospital to consult the relevant department as soon as possible. At the same time, maintain good eating habits, avoid high-fat, high-sugar diets, control your weight, and reduce the burden on the pancreas. If you have any discomfort or imaging suggests abnormalities, cooperate with the doctor in time to complete further examination and treatment.
