The difference between the early symptoms of female rigidity and lumbar muscle strain

Women may experience some similar symptoms in the early stages of ankylosing spondylitis and lumbar muscle strain, but in fact these are two completely different health problems. Learning to distinguish them will help you take the right measures as early as possible. If you suspect you may have ankylosing spondylitis, see a doctor as soon as possible.

Ankylosing spondylitis is a chronic inflammatory disease that is common in young adults. It often starts in the lumbar region and is characterized by morning stiffness and pain that worsens after rest, but is slightly relieved after activity. Lumbar muscle strain is mostly caused by overwork or poor sitting posture. The pain is superficial, the symptoms can be relieved during rest, and are often related to worsening after activity. Understanding these basic differences can help you make a preliminary assessment of your physical condition.

The typical early symptoms of ankylosing spondylitis are stiffness in the waist, which is particularly evident when getting up in the morning. The pain is usually deep and may radiate to the buttocks or thighs. The pain of lumbar muscle strain is more limited to the lower back, usually occurring after lifting heavy objects or maintaining the same posture for a long time. There may be obvious tenderness when pressing the local muscles. Ankylosing spondylitis may be accompanied by systemic manifestations such as joint swelling and limited mobility, which are usually not seen with lumbar muscle strain.

If you find yourself having typical symptoms of ankylosing spondylitis such as morning stiffness, or if your waist pain lasts for a long time and is difficult to relieve, you should go to the hospital for a check-up immediately. If it is just lumbar muscle strain, you can try to adjust your posture, reduce long-term bending or sitting, and use hot compresses or mild muscle relaxation training. But in either case, persistent symptoms need to be taken seriously, so you may wish to consult a professional doctor in time to ensure your health is safe.
