Experience of curing perianal abscess in infants

Infant perianal abscess can generally be cured through timely intervention and scientific care, but parents need to pay great attention to it to avoid delaying and aggravating the infection.

Perianal abscess refers to the redness, swelling, pain and accumulation of pus in the skin and tissues around the anus of infants due to bacterial infection. It is often caused by anal gland infection, damaged skin barrier or immature immune function, and is usually seen in newborns or small infants. It manifests as abnormal skin color around the anus, nodules when touched or the child's crying becomes more severe. In severe cases, the skin may rupture and discharge pus.

For infants with perianal abscesses, mild infections can be relieved by warm water sitz baths, keeping the area clean, and regular observation. If symptoms persist or pus appears, intervention is required. For example, the doctor may perform incision drainage to help drain the pus. During the nursing stage, parents should pay attention to frequent diaper changes, avoid eczema irritation, keep the affected area dry, and supplement enough water during feeding to enhance the baby's immunity. If the baby recurs, be alert to the possibility of anal fistula formation.

If you find abnormal skin symptoms or suspected infection in your baby, you should seek medical attention immediately to avoid exacerbating the infection by self-treatment. With the doctor's advice in place, parents also need to patiently care for the baby and regularly monitor the baby's recovery. Usually, babies can fully recover and there is no need to worry too much.
