Surgery is one of the main methods of Western medicine to treat hemorrhoids 1. If the hemorrhoids cannot be cured for a long time or if they form large mixed hemorrhoids or wreath hemorrhoids, surgical treatment should be performed. The purpose is to remove the hemorrhoids or use sutures and other mechanical methods to embolize or shrink them. Electrocoagulation or laser irradiation is also very effective. Acute thrombosis of external hemorrhoids requires immediate incision to remove the blood clots. Generally, external hemorrhoids do not require special treatment. In recent years, a new technology for the treatment of hemorrhoids has emerged - hemorrhoidal mucosal circumcision, also known as hemorrhoidal mucosal circumcision PPH surgery. Its theory is mainly based on a new understanding of the pathogenesis of hemorrhoids. PPH surgery uses a special device called a "PPH stapler" to perform a circular resection of the prolapsed rectal mucosa above the hemorrhoids. 2. During the operation, the anus is first enlarged, and the rectal mucosa is sutured in a circular manner about 4cm above the junction of the rectum and the anal canal at the dentate line. Then the PPH stapler is inserted into the anus, the suture is tied, the stapler is hit, and the prolapsed mucosal band is removed. The entire operation only takes about half an hour. Since the rectal mucosa above the dental line is controlled by the visceral nerves, the patient feels almost no pain after the operation; since the prolapsed band of the rectal mucosa is removed by surgery, the terminal anastomotic branch of the terminal rectal artery and vein is blocked, the root cause of hemorrhoids is eliminated, and the effect is ideal. 3. PPH surgery also has a good effect on some hemorrhoids that are very difficult to treat with traditional methods, such as mixed hemorrhoids, annular hemorrhoids, severe hemorrhoid prolapse, rectal prolapse, etc. One disadvantage of PPH surgery is that it is relatively expensive. This is mainly because PPH staplers cannot be produced in China and are currently completely dependent on imports. 4. Oral medication, topical medication and plaster medication can improve symptoms, but the effect is slow and it is difficult to eliminate the lesions, which is not thorough. Long-term medication is costly and has side effects on the body. |
