Symptoms and treatment of gouty synovitis

Symptoms and treatment of gouty synovitis:

Gouty synovitis refers to synovitis caused by gout. Common symptoms include joint pain, joint swelling, and limited joint mobility, as follows:

1. Joint pain

The patient presented with persistent diffuse pain, which was significantly aggravated by activity, but the tenderness point was not identified during examination.

2. Joint swelling

Synovitis caused by gout can cause obvious joint effusion, leading to joint swelling. When pressed, the skin of the swollen area will sink significantly, and the skin will rebound after release, accompanied by symptoms of increased skin temperature.

3. Limited joint movement

As the disease progresses, the synovial folds proliferate and thicken, which can easily lead to poor joint stability, affect the normal function of the joints, and restrict the patient's normal activities.

The treatment of synovitis caused by gout includes general treatment, drug treatment and surgical treatment, as follows:

1. General treatment

Patients should get enough rest during the onset of the disease, avoid excessive fatigue and strenuous exercise. At the same time, they should pay attention to dietary conditioning, reduce the intake of high-purine foods such as animal offal, pork, beef, sardines, etc.; drinking more warm water can help promote the excretion of uric acid in the body.

2. Drug treatment

Patients can take nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs under the guidance of doctors, such as diclofenac sodium and celecoxib, which can inhibit inflammatory reactions and relieve pain. At the same time, oral glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate and other drugs can prevent articular cartilage damage. For gout patients, drugs that inhibit uric acid production, such as allopurinol and febuxostat, can be taken during the stable period to control the progression of the disease.

3. Surgical treatment

If the patient has massive proliferation of synovial membrane in the joints, long-term pain symptoms affect the quality of life, and drug treatment is ineffective, joint cleaning treatment can be performed.
