Treatment of breast cysts

Breast cysts are benign in most cases, but if you experience pain or the cyst becomes unusually large, you should consult a specialist as soon as possible.

Breast cysts are fluid sacs that form in the breast glands. They are common in women, especially around 40 years old. The reason for their formation is related to the changes in estrogen levels in women, especially at different stages of the menstrual cycle, the cysts may change. Usually, the cysts are soft, smooth and movable, and some people may feel slight discomfort or breast tenderness.

Treatment for breast cysts depends on their size, symptoms, and nature. Small cysts with no obvious symptoms can be treated with observation, regular breast exams, and ultrasound monitoring. If the cyst is large or causing discomfort, symptoms may be relieved by draining the fluid through a fine needle aspiration, which usually relieves pressure and pain quickly, but there is a chance that the cyst will form again. If the cyst recurs repeatedly, or if the fluid is found to be mixed with blood after drainage, your doctor may recommend further testing or even surgical removal to rule out cancer.

You can pay more attention to the condition of your breasts. You may want to develop a habit of self-examination and palpate a few days after the end of your period every month to detect abnormalities in time. Reducing high-fat diets, consuming more fiber-rich foods, and maintaining healthy work and rest habits can also help prevent breast problems. Once you find abnormalities or feel unexplained pain, do not judge on your own, but go to the hospital as soon as possible for professional diagnosis and treatment.
