What are the symptoms of urinary stones and bladder stones?

Urinary stones and bladder stones may cause symptoms such as lower back and abdominal pain, frequent urination, urgency, or hematuria. If the symptoms are severe or persist, seek medical attention immediately.

Urinary stones are mostly located in the upper part of the urinary system, such as the kidneys or ureters, and often manifest as sudden and severe side pain that may radiate to the lower abdomen or thigh root, accompanied by nausea and vomiting. Bladder stones are generally located in the lower urinary tract. When the symptoms are mild, they may only be difficulty urinating or interrupted urine flow. In severe cases, urinary pain, hematuria, and even cystitis may occur.

The formation of urinary stones is related to drinking less water, high-salt and high-purine diet, etc., while bladder stones are more common in long-term urination disorders or long-term stagnation of urine. This "stagnant water" situation is prone to the deposition of minerals to form stones. Both may be aggravated by foreign bodies, infections, etc. in the urinary tract.

Improving diet and increasing water intake are effective ways to prevent stone formation. For urinary stones, if the pain worsens or is accompanied by a high fever, seek medical help immediately and avoid abusing drugs.
