What are the causes of sacroiliitis in women?

Sacroiliitis in women may be related to factors such as hormonal changes, strain or posture habits. If the symptoms seriously affect your life, you need to seek medical attention immediately.

The sacroiliac joint is an important structure in the pelvis. Its main function is to bear the body's weight and maintain stability. Inflammation may cause pain, stiffness, and even affect mobility. Women may be more susceptible than men due to their physiology, pregnancy, or hormonal fluctuations.

There are many causes of sacroiliitis. For example, during pregnancy, the secretion of the hormone relaxin increases, which makes the joint ligaments loose and increases the burden on the joints. Sitting for a long time or using improper posture for a long time may also cause joint strain. Trauma, infection or certain diseases such as ankylosing spondylitis may also induce this type of inflammation.

You should pay attention to maintaining the correct sitting and standing posture, avoid overexertion, and increase overall activity. If the pain persists, you can try heat or gentle stretching to relieve it. If you find symptoms such as redness, swelling, or fever in the painful area, you should consult a doctor as soon as possible to avoid misdiagnosis or delayed treatment.
