What is the tailbone?

The coccyx is actually what we often call the coccyx. It is located at the very end of our spine and is formed by the fusion of several small coccygeal vertebrae. Imagine that the coccyx is like the "tail" of our body. Although it is not as obvious as that of animals, it still has its own role in our body.

The coccyx exists not only to help us sit more steadily. It helps to disperse pressure when we sit, making us more comfortable. Although the coccyx may not seem very noticeable in daily life, you will feel its importance when you accidentally fall and sit on a hard ground. Pain in the coccyx often makes people restless and even affects their daily activities.

Interestingly, the coccyx is also connected to many of our muscles and ligaments. Many muscles are connected to the coccyx to help us maintain balance and walk upright. It can be said that the coccyx is like a small fulcrum, silently supporting our body and helping us complete various movements.

Of course, there may be some problems with the coccyx, such as coccyx pain. Coccyx pain is usually caused by trauma, improper sitting posture for a long time, or infection. If you feel coccyx pain, you may want to try changing your sitting posture or using a soft cushion when sitting to relieve the discomfort. If the pain persists, it is recommended to consult a doctor for professional advice and treatment.

Although the coccyx is small, it plays an important role in our body. Understanding its function and importance can not only help us better protect ourselves, but also better deal with problems when we encounter them. I hope everyone can pay attention to their own bodies, start with small details, and maintain a healthy and comfortable life.
