Is it possible to have breast cancer if you have breast nodules?

Breast nodules may lead to breast cancer, but not all breast nodules will lead to breast cancer. Breast nodules are a relatively general concept. Nodules with an imaging grade of 4 or above are more likely to lead to breast cancer. Breast nodules are common in breast hyperplasia, such as breast cysts and breast tumor diseases, including benign tumors such as fibroids and phyllodes tumors, as well as malignant tumors such as breast cancer and lymphoma. This means that breast nodules are a general term, a symptom and sign. If the breast nodule is breast hyperplasia, it generally will not lead to breast cancer. It is just a normal sign. With time or age, the nodules of breast hyperplasia may subside. Breast nodules are related to the menstrual cycle.

In fact, breast nodules and breast cancer are two different concepts. Breast nodules are when the proliferation is more severe and sometimes they are relatively large. They need to be differentiated from breast cancer. As we all know, breast cancer is mainly a lump, but why are nodules called nodules? Sometimes nodules do not reach the level of breast lumps. In other words, in terms of its density, under ultrasound, whether from its density or from its imaging examination, its density has not yet reached the concept of forming a lump compared with the surrounding tissues. The concept of a nodule is that it is relatively scattered and slightly different from the surrounding area. If we talk about breast cancer, it is equivalent to a lump, which is obviously different from the surrounding area. From the imaging examination, there is a big difference. In other words, breast nodules and breast cancer, in fact, have nothing to do with each other.

Don't worry too much when you find breast nodules, because most breast nodules will not cause breast cancer. It depends on the imaging grade and age. If the nodules are BI-RADS grade 3 or below, you can closely monitor the ultrasound. If they grow rapidly, breast cancer may also increase and require excision and biopsy.
