What to do if there is a lump in the breast cyst

If a breast cyst appears as a lump, you need to see a doctor immediately. The doctor will use imaging examinations (such as ultrasound or mammography) and clinical evaluation to rule out the possibility of malignant lesions and provide appropriate treatment plans for the specific condition. Do not squeeze or ignore the changes in the lump to avoid delaying treatment.

Breast cyst is a common benign breast lesion, but if accompanied by a lump, it may indicate that the cyst has changed or coexists with other breast lesions (such as fibroadenoma, breast hyperplasia). The types of lumps in breast cysts include simple cysts, complex cysts, and lumps that may hide malignant characteristics. Doctors usually use ultrasound to observe whether there are abnormalities in the boundaries, shape, and interior of the cyst. At the same time, ultrasound-guided puncture and aspiration may be performed when necessary to provide a basis for clarifying the pathological nature. If the fluid in the cyst is clear and transparent, it is usually benign; if bloody or turbid fluid is found, further examination of the pathological nature is required. In addition to imaging and puncture, breast mammography or MRI may also be recommended to obtain more detailed information.

It is recommended to avoid psychological anxiety after discovering breast cyst lumps, maintain a regular lifestyle and reduce irritating foods (such as coffee and tea). There are three ways to adjust medication: the doctor may prescribe hormone regulating drugs, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or vitamin E supplements to relieve symptoms according to the situation. If the lump gradually increases, surgical removal can be considered. Common surgical options include laparoscopic-assisted small incision surgery and local complete resection. Remember to check the breast regularly, pay close attention to the size, shape and symptom changes of the cyst lumps, and detect potential problems early.
