Are breast cysts and nodules serious?

Breast cyst nodules are generally benign lesions and are not serious in most cases, but they still need to be taken seriously and monitored regularly. Breast cyst nodules are common in women of childbearing age. They are cystic structures formed by hyperplasia of breast glandular tissue or accumulation of fluid. The causes of their formation may include genetic factors, fluctuations in hormone levels, bad living habits, and excessive mental stress. Cysts usually manifest as breast pain, distension, and cystic nodules can be found by breast palpation. Unlike breast cancer, breast cyst nodules usually have smooth edges and can change with the menstrual cycle. Although most breast cyst nodules do not require surgical intervention, if the nodules grow rapidly or are highly suspected of being malignant, further examinations such as breast ultrasound, breast mammography, or magnetic resonance imaging are required. If it is determined to be a benign cyst and there are no obvious symptoms, only regular follow-up is required. In severe cases, drug treatment can be considered, such as the use of anti-inflammatory drugs or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs to relieve pain. You can also choose traditional Chinese medicine treatment for conditioning.

In daily life, a reasonable diet and good living habits can help reduce the occurrence of breast cysts. Pay attention to reducing the intake of high-fat foods, caffeine and alcohol, and increase the intake of dietary fiber and vitamins. Proper physical exercise can not only relieve stress, but also maintain weight and reduce the risk of breast diseases. If you feel persistent breast discomfort or changes in nodules, you should seek medical attention in time to avoid serious consequences. Regular physical examinations and self-examinations can help detect problems early and take appropriate measures to ensure your health.
