Breast cyst TCM disease name

Breast cysts belong to the category of "breast disease" in traditional Chinese medicine. They are caused by liver depression, qi stagnation, phlegm coagulation and blood stasis. It advocates syndrome differentiation and treatment. It can be treated by soothing the liver and regulating qi, resolving phlegm and dispersing nodules, and regulating endocrine. Treatment methods include oral administration of Chinese medicine, acupuncture and massage, and diet adjustment.

1) Etiology analysis

In traditional Chinese medicine theory, the formation of breast cysts (breast lumps) is closely related to emotional discomfort, dietary injuries, excessive fatigue, and imbalance of yin and yang in the body.

- Liver depression and qi stagnation: The liver is responsible for the regulation of qi. Emotional depression can easily lead to qi stagnation, which can lead to breast cysts and breast pain.

- Phlegm and blood stasis: Improper diet or weak spleen and stomach function can easily lead to endogenous phlegm, which will be trapped in the breast.

-Imbalance of Yin and Yang: Staying up late and excessive stress can lead to endocrine disorders in the human body and affect breast health.

In view of the above causes, Chinese medicine treatment requires syndrome differentiation and treatment, and the appropriate treatment method should be selected according to the patient's individual condition.

2) Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment

1. Chinese medicine conditioning

Traditional Chinese medicine treatment of breast cysts focuses on soothing the liver and regulating qi, strengthening the spleen and removing dampness, and promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis:

- Liver depression type: Chaihu Shugan San is commonly used, which contains bupleurum, white peony root, tangerine peel, etc.

- Phlegm and blood stasis type: Xiaoyao powder or Erchen decoction which can relieve depression and resolve phlegm can be used.

-Blood stasis type: Guizhi Fuling Pills have the effects of promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis and dispersing nodules.

2. Acupuncture and moxibustion therapy

Traditional acupuncture stimulates specific acupoints to directly dredge the meridians and regulate qi and blood. Commonly used acupoints for breast cysts include Ganshu, Tanzhong, Rugen, etc., which can relieve liver depression and qi stagnation and promote local blood circulation.

3. Diet adjustment

Patients should avoid spicy and greasy foods, and eat more foods that can soothe the liver and relieve depression, such as lily, rose, cassia seed soaked in water, etc. At the same time, foods rich in estrogen-balancing ingredients such as soybeans, fish, and jujube can help improve breast health.

3) Lifestyle adjustment suggestions

Patients with breast cysts should maintain a regular schedule, avoid overwork and staying up late, and do moderate exercise such as yoga and Tai Chi to relieve stress and dredge the meridians. Pay attention to daily breast care, avoid cold or wearing tight underwear for a long time. Check the breast condition regularly to achieve early detection and early treatment.

Traditional Chinese medicine has the advantage of regulating overall function and relieving symptoms in treating breast cysts, but it is necessary to adhere to the principle of syndrome differentiation and treatment. If the symptoms persist, you should seek treatment combining traditional Chinese and Western medicine to ensure breast health.
