Is cervical spondylosis bone hyperplasia harmful?

There are certain risks in bone setting for cervical spondylosis. If the operation is not done properly, it may cause damage to cervical tissue or worsening of symptoms. Therefore, caution is needed when treating cervical spondylosis. It is recommended to give priority to scientifically proven treatment methods, such as medication, physical therapy or surgery, and avoid blindly using bone setting methods.

1) Potential hazards of cervical spondylosis bone hyperplasia:

Osteopathic surgery is a type of adjustment therapy for joint dislocation or bone imbalance, but it is not ideal for patients with cervical spondylosis. Cervical spondylosis is caused by the formation of bone spurs or abnormal wear of soft tissues. Only using external force to adjust the cervical spine through manipulation may not alleviate the cause, but may stimulate bone spurs to compress nerves or blood vessels, aggravate pain or motor dysfunction, and even cause permanent damage. For example, too heavy a manipulation may cause soft tissue tearing, and inaccurate force direction may aggravate joint dislocation.

2) Other treatment options for cervical spondylosis:

-Drug treatment: Commonly used anti-inflammatory analgesics (such as ibuprofen), muscle relaxants (such as flupenthixol) and drugs that promote cartilage repair (such as glucosamine) can effectively relieve inflammation and symptoms.

-Physical therapy: such as cervical traction, acupuncture or transcranial magnetic stimulation, which can reduce the feeling of pressure by improving local blood circulation, and the effect is relatively safe and stable.

-Surgical treatment: For patients with severe compression of the nerves or spinal cord, minimally invasive surgery such as laminectomy and decompression or artificial disc implantation can be selected to remove bone spurs and directly relieve symptoms.

In addition, scientific adjustments in daily life are also important, such as avoiding long-term head-down posture and choosing ergonomic work chairs or pillows to reduce the burden on the cervical spine.

3) How to reduce treatment risks?

For patients with mild symptoms, it is recommended to intervene through non-invasive treatment (such as physical therapy or drug therapy) and follow the advice of medical professionals. It is not recommended to use untrained manual bone setting. For patients with significantly worsening symptoms, numbness in the hands and feet, or limited mobility, they should seek medical evaluation as soon as possible, determine the detailed cause, and choose an appropriate plan to reduce the risk of complications.

Scientific treatment of cervical spondylosis can avoid unnecessary harm, but bone setting is not a suitable choice for all patients. If you feel unwell, go to a regular medical institution for diagnosis in time. If you need treatment, you must choose a safe and effective method to maintain your health.
