Precautions after burns

Precautions after burns

Burns are very common in our daily lives. Sometimes you may get burned if you are not careful. Once burned, emergency treatment measures are very important. If the treatment is not in place, it may cause the condition to worsen or leave ugly scars. So what are the precautions after a burn? Let's take a look at it together.

Try not to bandage the wound

After being scalded, it is recommended that the patient rinse the scalded area with cold water in time, which can reduce the patient's pain and avoid worsening of the burn. The patient should be careful not to bandage the wound as much as possible, and try not to use either Band-Aids or gauze. This is because if bandaged, it may cause heat to penetrate into the inner layer of the skin, making the burn worse.

Avoid touching hot objects

After a burn, the patient should be careful not to let the burned area touch hot objects again, and try to avoid direct sunlight on the burned area. This can speed up the recovery of the wound. The patient should protect the burned area and try to avoid secondary injury to the burned area.

Don't apply medication randomly

After a burn, the patient should take scientific methods for emergency treatment. Do not apply other things on the wound, such as soy sauce, alkaline noodles, and toothpaste, as this may cause wound infection. Also, try not to use colored liquid medicine on the wound. This is because burns damage the epidermis of the skin. If you apply colored liquid medicine at this time, it may cause the liquid medicine to remain on the skin, forming spots and affecting the recovery speed of the wound.

Avoid irritating foods

After a burn, the patient should pay more attention to his diet, mainly light food, avoid eating spicy and irritating food, such as pepper, onion, ginger, garlic, wine, etc., try to avoid eating food with heavy pigments, such as black rice, soy sauce, etc., so as to avoid scars as much as possible. It is recommended that patients eat more fruits and vegetables, such as tomatoes, oranges, green vegetables, etc. These foods are helpful for wound recovery.
