What to do with female breast cysts

Breast cysts are common breast problems, but they are not usually serious. They are mostly benign small sacs filled with fluid. For many women, the discovery of breast cysts can cause anxiety, but in fact, in most cases they do not require special treatment.

Breast cysts are sac-like structures caused by blocked milk ducts or the growth of glandular tissue. The size and shape of the cysts may change with the menstrual cycle, and estrogen is thought to be a factor. Usually, breast cysts appear or become more noticeable at certain times of the menstrual cycle, and they may decrease in size on their own after the menstrual period ends.

For mild, asymptomatic breast cysts, no special treatment is usually required. Regular breast examinations and imaging monitoring, such as ultrasound or mammography, can help to monitor changes. For some larger or symptomatic cysts, your doctor may recommend aspiration of the fluid or some medication intervention. Breast cysts usually do not develop into breast cancer, so there is no need to worry too much. However, if you find severe breast pain, irregular lumps or other abnormal symptoms, you should consult a professional as soon as possible.

Maintaining a healthy diet and regular exercise can have a positive impact on breast health. Some studies suggest that reducing caffeine intake may help with symptoms of breast cysts. Monthly self-examinations are also important for early detection of new changes. If you have any concerns or if there is a family history of breast disease, be sure to have regular professional medical examinations to ensure health.
