Breast cysts and tumors are not the same. Although they both form a "lump" in the breast, their nature is completely different. Breast cysts are benign fluid cavities, while tumors can be benign or malignant and require further examination to determine their nature. Breast cysts are caused by abnormal secretion of fluid from the breast lobules, which leads to the accumulation of fluid, forming a small sac filled with fluid. It is generally soft, elastic, and has clear boundaries, and feels like a water ball. It is more common in women between 30 and 50 years old, and may change especially before and after menstruation. Tumors are formed by abnormal proliferation of breast tissue, which may be benign fibroadenomas or malignant breast cancer. Benign tumors usually grow slowly and are painless, while malignant tumors may be harder in texture, have unclear boundaries, and be accompanied by symptoms such as skin dimpling or abnormal nipple secretions. Generally, no special treatment is needed for breast cysts, especially small cysts without symptoms. The cysts may shrink naturally after the menstrual cycle. However, if the cyst is too large and causes pain, fine needle aspiration can be used to relieve the symptoms. For breast tumors, further examinations, including ultrasound, mammography or biopsy, are required to determine the nature. If it is a malignant tumor, comprehensive treatment such as surgery, radiotherapy or chemotherapy is required. In daily life, it is recommended that women regularly perform breast self-examination, observe changes in breast shape and skin, and feel for abnormal lumps. In terms of diet, you can reduce the intake of high-fat and high-sugar foods and maintain a regular lifestyle. If you find persistent lumps, pain or other abnormalities in the breast area, you should see a doctor as soon as possible for a clear diagnosis. |
