Mastitis is a disease caused by trauma or bacterial infection secondary to milk duct blockage during lactation. Most of the local inflammation will be controlled after anti-infection treatment. However, the milk duct blockage is not completely relieved and breast cysts appear. If the cyst is sterile, it will be manifested as the lump does not subside after the treatment of mastitis. What happens if mastitis is not treated?

It is often related to some accumulation of milk. Because milk is not excreted smoothly, the blockage of the ducts further causes mastitis. Of course, if the inflammation is more serious and causes symptoms such as fever, it is related to bacterial invasion and requires antibiotic treatment. If it is more serious and not treated, breast abscess may occur, which also requires surgery to incise and drain the pus.

What to eat for mastitis

Mastitis is a very common breast disease in women. Generally speaking, there are no special requirements for the diet of mastitis. You can eat some fresh fruits and vegetables, and eat a light diet. Don't eat too much spicy or greasy food. For example, seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables, according to personal taste, you can eat apples, bananas, pears, and green vegetables, etc., eat some fish and eggs appropriately, and don't eat spicy food. Mastitis may manifest as local breast skin redness and swelling, and some may form breast lumps, which are related to the lumps formed by milk accumulation. Local hot compresses combined with anti-inflammatory treatments can improve symptoms.
