Patellar osteomyelitis is mainly caused by the following reasons. 1. Hematogenous infection is caused by other infection foci in the body circulating to the patella through the blood. 2. Traumatic infection is caused by bacteria invading the patella from local knee wounds, such as open patellar fractures. 3. Patellar osteomyelitis is caused by the spread of local infection. Patellar osteomyelitis can generally be divided into acute patellar osteomyelitis and chronic patellar osteomyelitis. Generally speaking, the incidence of acute patellar osteomyelitis is faster, that is, obvious high fever and systemic poisoning symptoms, which can lead to headaches, vomiting and other manifestations. It also produces redness, swelling, severe pain and increased skin temperature at the patellar site. Chronic patellar osteomyelitis can lead to local sinus formation and dead femur. Osteomyelitis manifestations Osteomyelitis is clinically divided into acute osteomyelitis and chronic osteomyelitis. The symptoms of acute osteomyelitis are often more sudden, with obvious systemic poisoning symptoms at the beginning, more high fever, and some may have headaches, vomiting and other meningeal irritation symptoms. It can also cause local severe pain and throbbing pain, local skin temperature increase, skin redness, limited movement and other manifestations of osteomyelitis. Chronic osteomyelitis often has sinus formation, dead bone discharge, and pigmentation around the sinus. When chronic osteomyelitis attacks acutely, it will cause wound redness, swelling, heat and pain, as well as systemic symptoms such as high fever. How to treat osteomyelitis low-grade fever? The low-grade fever caused by osteomyelitis is a normal reaction to bacterial infection of osteomyelitis. For the treatment of osteomyelitis, if it is acute osteomyelitis, the necrotic bone can be removed by incision and drainage, and sensitive antibiotics can be used systemically or locally to control the infection. If it is chronic osteomyelitis, surgical treatment is also required to remove the necrotic bone and a small amount of tissue around the necrotic bone, and then a large amount of antibiotics are used to control the infection. Bone defects can also be treated with bone transplantation or bone grafting. |
