What is the cause of breast cysts in unmarried women?

Breast cysts are not uncommon in unmarried women. Most of them are benign lesions, usually related to hormone fluctuations. If you find an abnormal lump or discomfort in your breast, you should seek medical attention for further examination to confirm the diagnosis.

Breast cysts are fluid-filled masses that are usually formed due to occlusion of the breast alveoli or ducts. The cyclical changes in the levels of estrogen and progesterone in women may stimulate breast tissue and cause structural disorders, thereby increasing the incidence of cysts. In unmarried women, hormone fluctuations may be closely related to factors such as menstrual cycle disorders, stress, and unbalanced diet, or they may be the natural result of puberty development not yet fully stabilized.

Breast cysts are mostly round or oval, some are hard, some are soft, and they vary in size. They are usually painless or only slightly painful, especially before menstruation or when there is a lot of pressure. If the cyst is large or close to the surface of the skin, you may even be able to touch it with your hand. There may be more than one cyst, and some may even recur, but most benign cysts will not become malignant.

To relieve the discomfort caused by breast cysts, unmarried women can adjust their lifestyle, such as getting enough sleep, keeping a regular schedule, reducing the intake of high-fat and high-sugar foods, and paying attention to controlling emotions and improving stress. If the cysts become larger, painful and swollen repeatedly, or are accompanied by other abnormal symptoms, such as nipple discharge, local redness and swelling, etc., you should see a doctor for examination and treatment as soon as possible to ensure your health.
