Can aneurysm bone cyst be cured?

Can aneurysm bone cyst be cured?

Aneurysm is a type of hemangioma. It is actually quite difficult to treat and may cause great harm. So can aneurysm bone cyst be cured?

The main treatment for aneurysmal bone cyst is surgery. Aneurysmal bone cyst is a benign expansile osteolytic tumor-like lesion characterized by uniform foamy transparent areas in the tumor. This disease often occurs in older children and young and middle-aged people. The tumor is often located at the epiphyseal end of the diaphysis and the posterior part of the diaphysis or spine, with local pain and swelling. In addition to en bloc resection, repeated selective arterial embolization can also be used for special areas with complex anatomical structures that cannot be resected en bloc.

How to detect an aneurysm?

1. The calcified tumor wall can be shown on X-ray examination.

2. Arteriography: Clarifying the location, extent, and size of the aneurysm helps to make a clear diagnosis and develop a surgical plan.

3. Ultrasound examination: can measure the size, pulsation and noise of the aneurysm.

5. Reactive hyperemia test: observe whether the collateral circulation of the affected limb has been fully established.

6. First, raise the affected limb, wrap an elastic bandage from the distal end upward to the bottom of the aneurysm, remove blood from the limbs, and then press the artery above the aneurysm with your fingers until the pulsation of the aneurysm disappears; after 5 minutes of removing the elastic bandage, continue to press the artery with your fingers. If the skin of the affected limb turns red within 2 to 3 minutes and points directly to the toe, it means that the collateral circulation has been fully established. If it does not turn red within the above time, it indicates that the collateral circulation is not established enough. If it is a carotid aneurysm, you can compress the carotid artery for 30 minutes. If the patient still does not have ischemic symptoms such as dizziness and blurred vision after the above compression, it indicates that the brain has sufficient collateral circulation.

Aneurysm is a problem that we need to handle carefully and should be analyzed based on the actual situation. After all, it may cause great harm or cannot be easily handled.
