How much does carotid aneurysm interventional surgery cost?

1. The general intervention treatment of cervical aneurysms is mainly to implant membrane stents or coil embolization. The stent treatment plan refers to the local release of the membrane stent cavity to shield the aneurysm lumen, allowing blood to flow through the lumen, achieving aneurysm closure and preventing it from rupture.

2. Another method is to use coils for embolization, which is mainly used for gourd-like cases with narrow necks, to promote thrombosis in the aneurysm cavity and prevent aneurysm rupture. The former usually costs about 50,000 yuan for stent grafts, while the latter costs between 10,000 and 30,000 yuan. Both can be included in the national medical insurance, with reimbursement of about 70%.

Aneurysms Aneurysms occur for three basic reasons:

1. The artery wall has three layers of tissue, supplied by a middle muscular layer that may be congenitally defective. Normal blood pressure in the affected artery can cause a balloon-like enlargement called a saccular aneurysm. Aneurysms caused by congenital defects almost always occur in arteries at the base of the brain. They are also called "berry" aneurysms because of their shape and because several aneurysms are often clustered together.

2. Regardless of the cause of inflammation, the arterial walls will weaken. Most arterial inflammation is caused by diseases such as polyarteritis nodosa or bacterial endocarditis (see infective endocarditis).

3. The muscular middle layer of some artery walls slowly deteriorates due to chronic diseases such as atherosclerosis or high blood pressure. Aneurysms caused by atherosclerosis are likely to be sausage-shaped enlargements called fusiform aneurysms that develop along a small part of the artery.

Another similar swelling is caused by high blood pressure. However, the increase in blood pressure in the arteries can cause the artery walls to expand in many different ways. It can even break the tissue layers of the artery wall, forcing blood into the layers. This condition is called a dissecting aneurysm.
