Internal hemorrhoids prolapse Internal hemorrhoids prolapse

After internal hemorrhoids prolapse, they need to be treated as soon as possible to relieve discomfort and prevent further deterioration. They can be treated by rest, warm water sitz bath, local medication, surgery, etc. The specific choice depends on the severity of the symptoms.

1 Causes of prolapse of internal hemorrhoids

Internal hemorrhoid prolapse is mainly due to the enlargement of hemorrhoidal tissue and the relaxation of supporting structures in the anorectal area, which leads to abnormal expansion of the hemorrhoidal venous plexus. Common causes include:

Genetic factors: If someone in your family has hemorrhoids, you may be at an increased risk of the disease.

Sitting or standing for a long time: Bad habits such as maintaining a single posture for a long time will affect blood return to the anus.

Bad bowel habits: Straining during bowel movements, frequent constipation or diarrhea can irritate the hemorrhoidal veins.

Pregnancy or obesity: Increased abdominal pressure compresses anal blood flow.

Dietary problems: insufficient dietary fiber intake and excessive spicy food may lead to difficulty in defecation.

2 Treatment methods for prolapsed internal hemorrhoids

Local treatment: In the early stages, you can try to use clean hands with gloves to gently push the prolapsed internal hemorrhoids back into the anus, while slowly adjusting your body posture to avoid aggravating the problem. If you feel pain or stagnation, stop trying to push it back immediately.

Drug treatment:

①Use hemorrhoid cream or ointment such as compound carrageenan ointment topically to relieve swelling and pain symptoms.

② Use hemorrhoid suppositories such as mesalazine suppositories to help repair the mucosal tissue around the anus.

③ Oral medications such as diosmin tablets enhance vascular elasticity and reduce local congestion.

Auxiliary methods: Warm water sitting bath 2-3 times a day can help relieve swelling and inflammation. Note that the water temperature should be controlled below 40℃ to prevent burns. Avoid spicy food, drink plenty of water, promote intestinal peristalsis and reduce constipation.

Surgical treatment is suitable for patients with recurrent prolapse or severe symptoms:

① Rubber band ligation: By ligating the blood flow at the root of the hemorrhoids, it promotes its shedding.

②Minimally invasive laser treatment: precise treatment of hemorrhoids with small incision and quick recovery.

③PPH: Suitable for patients with obvious prolapse of internal hemorrhoid tissue but higher lesion location.

It is very important to regularly follow up on changes in symptoms and seek medical evaluation. If prolapse of internal hemorrhoids is accompanied by more severe discomfort such as continuous bleeding and severe pain, you should go to the hospital immediately for treatment.

Adjusting your diet, getting proper exercise, and avoiding sitting or standing for long periods of time are the keys to preventing recurrence of the disease and controlling symptoms.
