What are the symptoms of lymphadenopathy?

Lymphatic tuberculosis is an infection caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which often manifests as swollen, painless but gradually softening lymph nodes. Some patients may experience systemic symptoms such as low-grade fever and night sweats, and need to seek professional medical help in a timely manner.

This disease is more common in people with low immunity, especially teenagers and the elderly. The tuberculosis bacteria spread to the lymph nodes through the blood or lymphatic circulation, most often affecting the lymph nodes in the neck, but the lymph nodes in the armpit or groin may also be affected. Common symptoms include swollen lymph nodes that feel firm and are usually painless.
