What are cystic breast lumps?

Breast cystic masses are a type of cystic tissue filled with fluid. They are common benign lesions in female breasts, but one must be alert to the possibility of malignant changes. One should seek medical attention promptly for a clear diagnosis based on symptoms, age, and medical history. Cystic masses usually appear as round or oval masses in one or both breasts. They are smooth and elastic to the touch, and sometimes may be accompanied by swelling and pain during the menstrual cycle. Some patients may be completely asymptomatic and require imaging examinations such as ultrasound or molybdenum target X-rays for diagnosis.

There are many causes of cystic breast masses, which may be closely related to hormone fluctuations in the body, especially increased estrogen levels will stimulate breast tissue proliferation and form cystic structures. Bad living habits such as high-fat diet, staying up late for a long time and high mental stress may increase the risk of disease. Genetic genes also play a certain role. People with a family history of breast-related lesions should pay more attention to regular screening. Chronic breast inflammation or long-term uncontrolled endocrine disorders may also be causes. If the cystic mass grows rapidly, feels hard, and has unclear boundaries, further investigation of the risk of malignant lesions is required.

For the treatment of breast cystic masses, different methods can be adopted according to the nature, size and symptoms of the lesions. Small and asymptomatic cysts usually do not require special treatment and can be treated with regular follow-up. If the cyst is large or causes obvious discomfort, the doctor may choose puncture and fluid extraction or sclerotherapy to relieve symptoms. For lesions suspected of being malignant or recurring, surgical removal such as cystectomy or local mastectomy may be required. In daily conditioning, you can reduce caffeine intake, supplement vitamin E appropriately, and balance hormone levels through regular exercise, all of which can help reduce the possibility of recurrence. While undergoing treatment, you should also adjust your diet, giving priority to low-fat, high-fiber foods.

Cystic breast lumps are usually benign lesions, but they are not completely without hidden dangers. It is important to detect them in time and manage them in a standardized manner. If you find abnormal changes in your breasts, do not panic or delay, and consult a professional doctor as soon as possible. Regardless of the nature of the disease, maintaining a good lifestyle and regular physical examinations are the key to maintaining breast health.
