What causes breast cysts?

The formation of breast cysts is closely related to the fluctuation of hormone levels in women's bodies. It is a common benign breast lesion and in most cases does not cause serious harm to the body.

Breast cysts are small cystic structures formed by the accumulation of fluid in the breast lobules or milk ducts. These cysts are often affected by the levels of estrogen and progesterone. During the menstrual cycle, pregnancy or menopause, women's hormone levels change. This fluctuation may cause breast tissue hyperplasia or increased secretion of fluid, which in turn forms breast cysts.

Cysts can vary in size, texture, and number. Small cysts may not be felt or cause obvious symptoms, while larger cysts may form a breast lump or even be painful. Often, these symptoms are more pronounced around menstruation or during mood swings. Stress, diet, genetic factors, and certain environmental hormones in daily life (such as estrogen compounds in the environment) may also affect the formation of breast cysts.

To reduce the discomfort of breast cysts, you can pay attention to the following points: maintain a good work and rest and eating habits, avoid excessive intake of stimulants such as caffeine; relieve stress through moderate exercise and stress-relieving activities; if there is pain or the lump is significantly enlarged, don't be too nervous, but go to the hospital for an ultrasound examination as soon as possible to rule out other more serious possibilities. At the same time, regular breast health examinations are also very important, which can help detect potential problems early and take appropriate countermeasures.
