How to prevent acute urethritis

How to prevent acute urethritis?

Both men and women may suffer from acute urethritis. In men, it often coexists with prostatitis; in women, the urethra is short, making it easier for bacteria to invade. This disease is a common disease, with an incidence rate of about 30% to 45% of the population.

Some preventive measures can be taken:

1. Develop the habit of washing hands: Investigations have found that a large number of pathogenic microorganisms stick to people's hands, such as chlamydia and mycoplasma, which can invade the urethra through defecation and cause infection. Therefore, it is also very important to develop good hygiene habits, especially before and after meals.

2. Clean the vulva and anus frequently: pay attention to the order when cleaning, wash the vulva first and then the anus, never do the other way around; towels and basins should be used specially, otherwise bacteria can easily invade the urethral opening.

3. Choose high-quality detergents and sanitary napkins: We must buy products from ordinary manufacturers to avoid inferior products that damage the body's normal flora, but reduce local resistance. When buying sanitary napkins, you should pay attention to product quality and not live for a long time to avoid breeding bacteria and causing vulvar and vaginal infections. When symptoms of vulvar itching and increased leucorrhea occur, you should see a doctor as soon as possible.

4. Drink as much water as possible: Clinically proven, drinking more water every day and urinating every 2-3 hours can prevent the growth of bacteria in the urinary tract and reduce the incidence of urinary tract infection. It is the most practical and effective way to prevent urinary tract infection. This pollution-free method plays an irreplaceable role in the early stage or remission stage of urethritis.

5. Pay attention to personal hygiene: take a bath frequently, tub baths are not recommended, and clothes should be stored separately; change underwear frequently, especially new underwear or underwear that has not been worn for a long time, and wash and dry them before wearing; wear cotton underwear that is breathable and absorbent, try to wear less tight pants or jeans, and wear more breathable skirts. This is very important for protecting women's health.

6. Choose cotton underwear: Avoid wearing tight clothes and underwear, choose sweat-absorbent and comfortable cotton underwear to keep the genitals clean and dry to reduce the chance of bacterial growth.
