Is breast cyst puncture or surgery better?

Is breast cyst puncture or surgery better?

The treatment method for breast cysts depends on the condition. For most benign cysts, puncture and drainage is a simple and safe method, while surgical treatment is suitable for patients with recurrent attacks, obvious symptoms or suspected malignant lesions.

Breast cyst is a common benign breast lesion, which is caused by blockage of mammary ducts and fluid accumulation in most cases, and often manifests as a local lump or distending pain. For small and asymptomatic cysts, regular observation is usually sufficient. If the cyst is large, accompanied by discomfort or causes psychological distress to the patient, the doctor may recommend puncture and drainage. Puncture treatment is simple and quick, and the cyst fluid can be extracted with a fine needle, but this method may have the risk of recurrence. If the cyst is large, recurs repeatedly and is accompanied by obvious pain or local infection, or suspicious lesions are found on ultrasound, surgical removal may need to be considered. Surgery includes two types of cyst removal: partial resection and complete resection. It can relieve discomfort and help clarify the nature of the pathology, but the trauma is relatively large and requires hospitalization and recovery time.

Patients should combine the advice of professional doctors when choosing treatment, and make a comprehensive judgment based on the size, location, symptoms and personal medical history of the cyst. Pay attention to a light diet and maintain a regular schedule, which is conducive to breast health. If you find a breast cyst, do not be afraid to see a doctor. It is important to choose a regular hospital for examination to ensure that the treatment direction is scientific and reasonable. Whether you choose puncture or surgery, you need to pay attention to postoperative care and regular check-ups to ensure your health.
