I feel a small hard lump on the inner wall of the anus

A small hard lump felt on the inner wall may be caused by inflammation, cysts, lipomas or other soft tissue hyperplasia, and in rare cases may be related to malignant tumors. Timely evaluation and diagnosis are very important, and it is recommended to see a doctor as soon as possible to determine the cause.

There may be many reasons for the appearance of small nodules. Inflammatory nodules are usually caused by local infection or irritation, often accompanied by redness, swelling or tenderness; cysts are formed by blockage of sebaceous glands or accumulation of other tissue fluids, without obvious pain, and feel smooth; lipomas are a benign hyperplasia of adipose tissue, soft and movable; if the nodules grow rapidly, irregularly or are accompanied by persistent pain, you should be alert to the possibility of malignant lesions, especially when there is a family history of tumors. Long-term chronic irritation or trauma may also lead to the appearance of nodules. The nature of the nodules can be confirmed by physical examination, ultrasound or puncture biopsy, and imaging examinations such as MRI or CT are required if necessary.

The treatment method depends on the cause. For inflammatory nodules, topical anti-inflammatory ointments or oral antibiotics are often effective; small cysts can be observed, and larger ones require surgical removal; lipomas usually do not require treatment, but if they are large or affect function, surgical removal can be considered. If it is a malignant lesion, surgery, radiotherapy, or chemotherapy may be required. In daily life, you should pay attention to avoid squeezing the nodules, keep the area clean, and avoid repeated irritation. If the nodules persist or other abnormal symptoms appear, such as ulceration or exudation, you should seek medical attention immediately to avoid delaying treatment.
